The Woman Behind the Journey

Stacy Johnston’s story began in a close West Texas community where family, church, friendship, and responsibility were woven into everyday life. Her father worked as a realtor and insurance agent, while her mother taught dance. Both were small-business owners who modeled a strong work ethic, community involvement, and the importance of honoring one’s word.

Dance gave Stacy an early sense of freedom and identity. College later opened the door to professional performance, allowing her to appear alongside figures such as Harry James, Pearl Bailey, and John Travolta. Yet the world behind the glamour presented compromises that conflicted with her upbringing and faith. Stacy chose not to pay a personal or spiritual price that felt too high.

A new chapter began when she met her future husband, the bull rider who danced with the ballerina in her crowded living room on their first date. Stacy eventually returned home, married, opened her own dance studio, and became a mother of three.

Her experiences across faith, marriage, motherhood, business, change, and personal growth form the foundation of The Journey to Chapter 6. Through the book, she invites others to recognize the value of their experiences and pass their hard-earned wisdom forward.
